Hello! We're Amy and Theresa, and we're so happy you're here. We started Matchy Matchy Sewing Club by accident. As friends and former co-workers with a design background, we both picked up sewing as a hobby in 2020. After sharing patterns, sewing tips and fabric sources back and forth for months we noticed that the patterns we were looking for didn't exist yet. Patterns made for beginners that were fun to sew, easy to wear and could be made in an afternoon.
We see sewing as a whole creative experience of making wearable memories: from the first spark of inspiration to the delightfully surprising outcome, and the many discoveries along the way. On a mission to help you have as much fun making those memories as you do wearing them, we're always dreaming up beginner-friendly, design-forward ways to make sewing a snap.
Every pattern we create starts with an idea we genuinely love and would want to wear ourselves. We design all of our patterns in-house, then work with a professional pattern maker with more than 25 years of experience to draft and grade each one with care and precision.
One of the things that's most important to us is fit. We know that sewists come in all shapes and sizes, and we believe everyone deserves a pattern that feels thoughtfully made for them. That's why we pay close attention to every size in our range, spending time refining the fit across the full size spectrum rather than focusing on just one sample size.
Our goal is simple: to create beautiful, well-fitting patterns that help you feel confident while sewing and even better when you're wearing the finished garment. We put a lot of care into every detail so you can enjoy the process and love what you make.
Our exclusive fabric collections are thoughtfully designed to work beautifully with our sewing patterns, making it easy to create a handmade wardrobe that feels easy, personal, and fun. We focus on natural fibers that are comfortable to wear, enjoyable to sew, and made to last. Each collection is created with mixing and matching in mind, with coordinating colors, prints, and textures that work together effortlessly. Whether you're sewing a single garment or building a wardrobe of handmade favorites, our fabrics are designed to inspire creativity and make choosing combinations a joyful part of the process.
In 2025 we published The Matchy Matchy Sewing Book, a beginner-friendly, step-by-step guide with 12 flexible patterns for creating a unique, handmade wardrobe. It blends simple techniques, design-forward ideas, and the “Scrap Theory” approach to make sewing fun, approachable, and sustainable. A perfect place to dive back into sewing or start from the beginning with these easy patterns that sew up in a snap!

Opening summer 2026 in Monrovia, California, our brick-and-mortar store will be a welcoming fabric, pattern, and sewing lifestyle shop created for our local creative community. We can’t wait to gather, inspire, and share the joy of making together in person.
