All Around Crew is here!

Our newest, coziest pattern - the All Around Crew - is here!

We set out to make an easy to wear sweatshirt that looks both comfy and chic at the same time. We gave an early sample to our friend Megan and she said she didn't take it off for 3 days and was wearing it around the clock. This meant the pattern was a winner.

Details

The All Around Crew is designed with comfort in mind and includes two views. View A is cropped and hits at the natural waistline. View B is tunic length and hits below the hips. Both views have a wide, relaxed fit with dropped shoulders and a gently curved back hemline. The boxy style sleeves are meant to be worn cuffed for a casual look.

You can see the how the crop hits on different heights. Chelsea (short hair) is 5'5" and Morgan is 5'9".

Fabric

This pattern works best with knit fabrics such as french terry, sweatshirt fleece, and jersey. Knit fabrics with less stretch will showcase the oversized boxy cut, while knits with more drape will give a relaxed and flowing fit. For the neckline we suggest using a knit fabric with greater stretch, such as a rib knit. You can also use your main body fabric if it has at least 40% stretch.

We love how this crew looks in different types of knits. A french terry gives it a classic sweatshirt feel, while a jersey knit lends a drape-y, slinky feeling. The Merchant and Mills Cotton Quilted Jacquard also really plays up the boxy shape.

Recommended Stitch

When sewing with knits we recommend using a serger. If using a regular sewing machine use a stretch stitch setting or use the zig zag stitch. Practice with different zig zag lengths and widths on your fabric before starting. A good starting point is 3.0 mm length and 2.0 mm width.

We can't wait to see your makes! #allaroundcrew
