Cream and Aqua Baby Stripe Rib Knit

We chose this striped rib knit for its playful, retro-inspired colors and wonderfully soft feel. It has a substantial midweight hand that feels cozy and comfortable without being too heavy, making it lovely worn on its own or layered when the weather cools down.

The quality and recovery are what really made this fabric stand out to us. It stretches comfortably and springs back into shape, so it works just as beautifully for an oversized long-sleeve tee as it does for something more fitted. It’s one of those fabrics that makes us want to sew an entire cozy wardrobe.

This is a soft, substantial 100% cotton rib knit with plenty of stretch and excellent recovery. Its cheerful stripes have a fun retro feel that adds a little something special to even the simplest knit project.

If you are new to sewing with knits, give this one a try. This rib knit is soft and stretchy, but its substantial weight gives it a nice amount of body and makes it easier to handle than many lightweight knits. We recommend using a ballpoint or stretch needle and sewing with a stretch stitch or serger.

Cotton knit fabric can shrink quite a bit, so we strongly recommend prewashing and drying your fabric in the same way you plan to care for your finished garment. You may want to purchase a little extra fabric to account for shrinkage and matching the stripes. We suggest a minimum of 1/2 yard extra.
