Kite Pants Back Pockets
A quick video tutorial on how to prepare the back pockets of your Kite Pants. This method results in a neat and tidy pocket that traps the seams inside so nothing can poke out, even with heavier fabrics.

These pants were easy to sew and turned out really cute. Mine were an xs and turned out a little big so the next time I will need to adjust the pattern a little bit smaller.
I made a patchwork version!
Just like Matchy Matchy's goal with sewing, these pants were FUN to make. The instructions were so clear I wanted to cry of happiness. Disclaimer, I am picky about fit......I am 5'1" 120 lbs (with short legs), and since the directions say they are designed for 5'7" I decided to shorten at the line on the pattern. I shortened them by six(!) whole inches, I took three inches from above of the line and three from below to make them still look proportional to the original pattern. I also read some reviews that the rise can make them a bit drop crotch, so I took 1/2" from the rise, which worked out very well. I am also consistently between S and XS, so decided to make them in an XS. Here's what I would do next time: The XS fit like a glove and still are roomy in the legs. I think next time I will make them in a S just to compare. I also would only shorten them by four or five inches, not six, so I give myself more room for error. Plus, I can always hem them a little shorter at the end if needed. This time around, I had to hem by only 1" (not the suggested 1.5") because otherwise they would have been a little too short. My BIG TIP: do yourself a favor and cut the waistband 1/2" wider than the pattern. I was struggling to get the elastic through the original size, then remembered I can do whatever I want, so I re-cut the waistband to be wider and had no problem getting the elastic through. Unless you are a master sewer who can make perfect and precise seam allowances every time (not me), you may also benefit from a wider waistband to give yourself more leeway.
I'm quite new at sewing (first pattern was the Weekend Chore Shorts), and I love these. The pattern was easy to follow and very enjoyable!
I sized down a whole size from the size my waist measurement told me to make, and they fit perfectly! I made an XS, I'm 5'5" and ~130lb ish for reference. They're full-length pants on me, and I may hem them further to be more the length they appear on the model in the photos.
I added an extra pocket on the side panel on the leg based on the pockets from the Weekend Chore Shorts and I'm digging it. Secondhand duvet cover as the fabric.
This is the first Matchy pattern I’ve made. I found the directions easy to follow with helpful diagrams. After reading other reviews I decided to size down when making my wearable muslin. They fit really cute and are quite comfy. Nice pattern.
I’m normally a M/L using wide clothes and first I did a test so I reduced all to a size S. the patterns is very well explained and easy to follow but the shape it’s way to wide making them unflattering. I was really looking forward to look like the pictures but not in my case.
