The Homebody Quilted Jacket is designed to be a cozy oversized piece you can throw on for comfort and slouchy style points. It is a collarless jacket with a boxy fit, button placket and two front patch pockets. The sleeves feature a boxy style dropped shoulder, are roomy enough to fit a mid-weight sweater, hit below the wrist and finished with an elastic channel at the cuff to keep drafts at bay. Optional bias bound cuff is also available. View A is constructed by piecing together quilted sections to create visual interest with seams at the middle. View B is constructed with seamless pattern pieces for a traditional quilted jacket feel. No quilting experience is needed, you will learn the skills to create an heirloom quality jacket.
With all Matchy Matchy sewing patterns, we’ve designed The Homebody Quilted Jacket to have simple shapes and easy construction to take the overwhelm out of sewing and to help you find the joy of discovery.

For my daughter's birthday:) Pockets inside jacket. Sewn from vintage sheets.
Absolutely loved making the homebody quilted jacket, I am so thrilled with the quality of the finish and fit I have been able to achieve with this pattern! I am so proud that I was able to produce something of such high quality, I love that matchy matchy patterns are simple and clear to follow, have so many variations and are right on trend. This is one of many matchy matchy makes for me and I always feel confident cutting into my good fabric with matchy matchy patterns!
I thought a jacket like the Home-Body was well beyond my meagre sewing capabilities, but look, I did it! Thanks Matchey-Matchey for making sewing more fun, less headache inducing 😉 I made my Home-Body from a home-made quilt I found in an op-shop (thrift shop). My only issue was the sizing which is my fault because I ignored the over-sized description. I am normally a XS/S, but for some crazy reason I made the medium which is enormous!!! Next time I will go for XS, and make my own binding because the widest pre-made binding I could find here in Australia was only 25mm, it would've looked nicer with thicker binding imo.
I loved this pattern, it was so easy to follow! It came together beautifully, and I’m obsessed with my jacket!
Really happy I used some great scraps and did a nice job on this. The YT tutorial was so awesome too!
