The Horizon Day Dress is a casual, easy fitting dress. It features a relaxed style drop shoulder with 3/4 length sleeves which can be worn down or cuffed. The curved bodice sits above the natural waistline, adding interest and shape to the oversized silhouette for a flattering drape. The pattern features two views, both with inseam pockets and adjustable skirt lengths marked directly on the pattern — from above the knee to mid shin. View A has a full skirt while view B includes a fun patchwork style skirt. This pattern is intentionally designed with simple shapes, making it a fast and fun project to sew.

Chelsea (short hair) is 5'5" and Morgan is 5'9"

Perfect for a beginner- I made something I love!! while learning :)

this was the first garment i've ever sewn - the first sewing pattern I've ever followed, & it was a great experience for a beginner. I got it professionally printed at PDF Plotting, and then traced all my pieces onto swedish tracing paper, and now having those pieces cut out at the ready I have so much confidence & excitement to make this again and again in different fabrics. I have a 44" bust & followed the size 3x and the fit is completely wonderful, flowy and oversize and effortlessly flattering. I wish the product photos modeled the dress on a greater diversity of bodies, but I can say the fit following the larger size looks very accurate to the original photos and I think they graded the sizes very thoughtfully. All the instructions were simple, clear and included helpful tips and blog tutorials for the tricky parts like the neck bias binding. The sewing process was fun and engaging & at the end of it I got a classic wardrobe staple :)

Love this dress (indeed, every pattern by Matchy Matchy)

I had some 100% cotton fabric I loved and was looking for just the right quilt design to make with it. However, when I saw this dress pattern I knew what I was going to make with it. I am the showcase for this lovely fabric. It came out so well I made a second one.

Super cute design, great pattern!

Really enjoyed this pattern! The dress was easy to make and adjust with the instructions given (for example, I wanted my sleeves to be full length, so the marked line for lengthening them came in handy!) Will definitely be making another one in the future!

Help!

I love this pattern and thank you for putting it on sale. However, I wish the Horizon came as a paper pattern. The PDF is a total hassle and the amount of money saved is’t worth the grief!
