The Horizon Day Dress is a casual, easy fitting dress. It features a relaxed style drop shoulder with 3/4 length sleeves which can be worn down or cuffed. The curved bodice sits above the natural waistline, adding interest and shape to the oversized silhouette for a flattering drape. The pattern features two views, both with inseam pockets and adjustable skirt lengths marked directly on the pattern — from above the knee to mid shin. View A has a full skirt while view B includes a fun patchwork style skirt. This pattern is intentionally designed with simple shapes, making it a fast and fun project to sew.

Chelsea (short hair) is 5'5" and Morgan is 5'9"

Favourite Dress

Aboslutely love this dress pattern. Based on reviews I sized down to a M (measurements put my in a L). I am glad I did! The first version I did in a rayon/viscose with the 86cm dress (version A). This worked really well but the pockets were way too high. The second version, I added 1.5 inches to the bodice, dropepd the pockets by an inch, and it was PERFECT (I am 6ft tall and usually have to lengthen patterns). I have plans to make another one.

Wish there was an expansion pack/hack for different neckline options!

My new favourite dress!

I loved making this dress. I found the instructions incredibly easy to follow as a pretty new sewist. I made it using a nice stiff cotton and now find myself wearing this dress every chance I get- I can’t wait to make a second (and maybe third!).

Easy peasy!

I just completed sewing the Horizon Day Dress in a lightweight tencel denim. I’m someone who can sew, but I lack confidence. The pattern is easy to cut, not fiddly like some patterns and the instructions are very well explained and easy to understand. I would recommend this pattern to anybody who’s after an easy to sew, stylish garment. I plan on commencing another version next weekend - without the sleeves this time! Thanks Matchy Matchy!
